HAST committed to FreeBSD 8

Late Thursday evening the HAST (High Availability STorage) project was committed to the FreeBSD HEAD. This marks a successful completion of the FreeBSD Foundation sponsored project as it has been merged into the main branch of FreeBSD 8.

The commit notice from Paweł Jakub Dawidek briefly describes the project. A detailed discussion of the project is available form the FreeBSD Wiki.

This is a great example of the cyclical support of the FreeBSD community. It demonstrate the value that the FreeBSD Foundation brings to our community and all should be encourage to support the foundation so that they can in turn support the community by sponsoring more great projects.
